First off, Congratulations!
When it comes to choosing the one to bake your wedding cake, it’s simple. Do your homework! It’s not about who’s best in the industry or in the city. It’s not about the name behind the cake. What matters is that your vision for the cake shines through.

For Wedding Cake: Look at your options. Bakers book wedding cakes Weeks and months in advance. There is a lot of work that goes into it, just like your wedding. It’s not an everyday affair. Make time for setting out your own ideas on paper- share the inspirations for your cake- photos, google links, books, or even your own design.

With your Baker: Make sure you’re comfortable with the baker, have no inhibitions. No request is too silly, no question is too basic. Ask anything! How else will you know? Be open about the budget- I can’t stress this enough since this is where most discussions come to a halt. Be realistic and Be open about your expectations. Another important aspect is choose a baker for their strength and their preferred style. A rustic style baker would have difficulties with Fondant, and vice versa.
Make sure to settle the details well in advance- Date, Delivery timings, Address, Where to set up, whom you coordinate with at the venue, the conditions at the set up (indoor/outdoor), Payments, etc so that on the day you’re sorted. The baker will take care of everything for you.
Hope this helps! Happy planning..
